Full professor at the University of Minho, Portugal.

Leader of an interdisciplinary group, develops dental solutions/innovations, both in materials and technologies, with 7 global patents accepted in Europe, USA, Brazil, Japan, China and another 5 patents under evaluation, for dental solutions.

Professor Filipe Silva has published approximately 400 research articles, 130 in the dental field, has given over 100 presentations worldwide and has received around 20 awards, including with his doctoral students.

CEO (from 2022) of a spin-off from the University of Minho-Extremater, Lda (Extreme Materials; www.extremater.com).

Professor Filipe Silva is ranked among the 2% of the most influential scientists in the world in the field of biomedical sciences (materials and technologies) (by Elsevier/Stanford University-USA; 2021-2024).
